Abstract
After the end of the Cold War, the relations established by the European Union with the Central Asian states have been shaped particularly within the framework of economic and security strategies. Central Asia has historically been a strategic and indispensable region for the European Union as well as actors such as Russia, China and the USA. This article analyzes the motivation of interest that the European Union has resolutely and consistently maintained despite the great power struggles in the Central Asian region after the Cold War. The study comprehensively evaluates the strategic relations of the European Union with both regional actors and great powers in terms of economy and security. The article aims to provide original contributions to the field of International Relations regarding the European Union’s Central Asia policy by analyzing regional economic and security strategies within the framework of Realist Theory.
