First Balkan War and Loss of Salonika

Abstract

Salonika, having important location of Turkish history and culture was conquered by Otoman ruler II. Murat. After the conquest, Turks were begun with housing in there. After 1492, together with Jewry coming fron Spain, Portugal, Germany, and certain other countries, population of Salonika substantially changed. Along with Tanzimat Fermani, Greece substsntially developed in trade and culture. However, in consequence og thinking coming from West and provacotion and propaganda coming from tribe in Balkans, Greece was given up Hellenes after Balkans war in 8 novenber 1912. Greece has not only Works belong to Turkish&Islamic culture and civilization but also birth house of Mustafa Kemal as a museum there. This remembered and keeped alive Salonika’s place and importance in the Turkish history for us.
